A company called "Chrome Cyz" has developed a new antenna capable of receiving terrestrial digital broadcasts. This isn't too cool in of itself, but it's got a nice design; the plane-based shape of it even allows embedding into the lumber of a house's walls.

Chrome Cyz Corporation has developed in cooperation with Musashi Industrial University a plane-shaped antenna and gap-filler antenna that support the reception of terrestrial digital broadcasts. Commercialization is planned for January 2005, and it is planned for sale to large contractors and developers.

The plane-shaped antenna is both smaller and flatter than current antennas, allowing it to also easily be installed inside rooms. Even when compared to current in-room antennas, it features a higher amplified reception ability.

Also, as the basic composition is very compact, it can be easily fused with other raw materials, meaning it can be inserted into walls and other architectural materials.

The gap-filler plane-shaped antenna is an antenna intended to eliminate problems arising from existing structures that block the reception of terrestiral digital broadcasts. If a gap-filler is established o­n the roof of a building that is intercepting the terrestrial digital waves, it will allow other areas with no reception to instead receive digital broadcasts with stability.
