Seiko Instruments will begin sales of an electronic dictionary installed with 85 reference sources, the "IC DICTIONARY SR-K6000", from December 15. It will be priced at 47,250 yen.
The dictionary contains 17 different Japanese, English and encyclopaedic dictionaries, as well as travel and conversation phrase books, in 8 languages. Installed dictionaries include the "Koujien" (Iwanami Shoten) and the "Basic Genius English-Japanese Dictionary" (Taishukan Shoten). The electronic dictionary places an emphasis on everyday and travel conversation.
Everyday and travel conversation reference sources include the "Pocket Chinese Conversation Quick-reference Dictionary" (DHC), the "BlueGuide Personal Travel Conversation (Jitsugyou no Nihonsha, 6 languages) and the "Dr. PASSPORT" medical conversation phrase book (mais, 8 languages).
Thirty titles from the "Oxford Bookworms Library", arranged into six levels according to vocabulary and grammar content, are also included.
The "Kaite Key" keyboard has a layout close to that of a PC. Other features include a "Super Jump Function" that automatically selects the jump destination, search phrase input with predictive text and a "Realtime Search Function" that minimises search time.
The dictionary has a 240x320 dot matrix FSTN black and white LCD display. Power is supplied by 2 AA batteries and up to 90 hours of continuous use is possible. The dictionary is W137 x D88 x H15.6 mm in size and weighs approximately 210 grams.
