Here's a new 3G phone from Panasonic intended for overseas markets. Looks pretty nice, except for the fact that there's only concept art.
Also, I hate flip phones as they are in the USA. The only way I could possibly be interested in buying one is if it had a dual-axis hinge (like on the W21SA or P900iV) -- but this feature is yet to come to American phones.
Panasonic Mobile Communications (Inc.) announced on the 26th that they have developed the "Z800" UMTS/GSM supporting phone, at the "PT/EXPO COMM CHINA2004" taking place in Peking, China. The release period et. al has not been decided.
The "Z800" is a cellular phone that supports UMTS (W-CDMA) and GSM standards, as well as GPRS (GSM packet communication). The supported frequencies are 900, 1800, 1900, and 2000MHz. It can use TV phone and MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service), and if a supporting service is offered, the playback and download of music. Other features include a WAP 2.0 browser, miniSD slot, Java support from MIDP 2.0 + CLDC 1.1, connection with a PC via Bluetooth and USB 2.0, as well as infrared communications.
On the reverse of the phone is a 1.3MP CCD camera, and a 0.11MP camera on the front for TV phone purposes. THe main display is a 2" TFT LCD display, with a resolution of 176 x 220 dots at 65,000 colors. The subdisplay is a 64 x 96 dot STN display capable of displaying 56,000 colors. The main body size is 49 x 26 x 96.5mm (W x D x H), and it weighs 115g. It has a volume of 100cc.
