I'd personally never even consider putting something like this o­n the front of my computer, but some people like to have all sorts of "vitals" of their PC right at their fingertips. This is a round LCD (that takes up two 5" drive slots, no less) to be inserted in the front of your case.

If you're not familiar with case LCDs, they're mainly for monitoring what's going o­n inside of your computer. For the "hardcore gamer" types, it's often critical to know what speed internal fans are running at, be able to adjust those speeds, what temperature their CPU is, and how many GHz it's running at.

"Scythe" is now selling the "GameWatch" 4-channel fan controller for a 5 inch drive bay, which is furnished with a large round LCD with a unique design. The actual price is between 4,970 yen and 5,229 yen. Two body colors are available: silver and black.

This product, which features symmetric button positioning and a large round LCD that grabs your attention, at first glance gives the impression of an AV-function bay panel. It can adjust fan speed both manually and automatically (with temperature), monitor temperature (sound alarm in emergency, has a clock, and features a volume adjust.

The fan rotation speed, temperature, and volume can be confirmed o­n the LCD. Of course having an LCD with red, blue, and purple backlight colors is fun, but having a screen this large is also easy to use. Installation requires two 5" drive bays, but this item will likely be appreciated by parties who place stress o­n design.
