Sony will begin sales of three new CD Walkman models from mid November, including the world's smallest, thinnest and lightest, the "D-NE20".

All of the new models will have not set price but expected street prices are approximately 22,000 yen for the D-NE20, 19,000 yen for the D-NE920 and 15,000 yen for the D-NE820.

D-NE20


The D-NE20 is the world's smallest, thinnest and lightest CD walkman, courtesy of a newly-developed miniature circuit board and a full magnesum body. Its external dimensions are 127 x 132.5 x 13.1 mm (W x D x H) and weight is 110 grams.

Silver, blue and red body colours are available. A digital amplifier and high-quality headphones provide improved sound quality while a parametric equaliser allows sound adjustment. The stick-shaped remote control supports kanji character display.

ATRAC3plus and MP3 CD-R/RW discs are supported and can be created using the included "SonicStage Ver.2.1" software. Battery life when playing back an ATRAC3plus CD is approximately 100 hours.

D-NE920


The D-NE920 is a CD Walkman with a 5 line LCD display with Japanese character support. Silver, blue and white body colours are available. The aluminium body gives the CD Walkman a high-grade appearance. A digital amplifier and parametric equaliser are also installed.

ATRAC3plus and MP3 CD-R/RW discs are supported and can be created using the included "SonicStage Ver.2.1" software.

The stick-style remote control supports kanji character display. External dimensions are 127 x 133.5 x 18.3 mm and weight is 143 grams. A maximum of approx 100 hrs continuous playback is possible when using ATRAC3plus CDs.

D-NE820


The D-NE20 is an acrylic-bodied CD Walkman with an alphabet/kana-capable stick-style remote control. It is available in a number of colours - white, blue, pink and and black.

A digital amplifier and parametric equaliser are installed. ATRAC3plus and MP3 CD-R/RW discs are supported and can be created using the included "SonicStage Ver.2.1" software. External dimensions are 131.5 x 135.0 x 17.1 mm (WxDxH) and weight is 200 grams. Maximum continuous playback time is approximately 100 hours.
