Here's some cleanup from Wednesday and Thursday. AudioTechnica introduced two pairs of headphones over the course of these two days. Since they're both headphones from AudioTechnica, I'd thought I'd combine them into o­ne article.

The first are "ear-hanger" type headphones, and the second are foldable-type headphones. You'll see.

AudioTechnica Corporation will release the "ATH-EQ88" ear-mounted headphones, which have ear-hangers that feature a support to reduce the weight o­n the ear, o­n November 1st. The price is 2,625 yen. Five colorings will be available: black (BK), maroon (MR), navy blue (NB), silver (SV), and white (WH). AudioTechnica has named them "Ear Fit Headphones."

On the earhanger is a soft-touch support that puts a low burden o­n the ear itself if worn for a long period of time. The earhangers are also constructed to stop them from being "wide open" (if you've worn ear-hangers before, you'll know what this is referring to), and can easily be put o­n.

The unit has a 28mm diameter, and a neosium magnet is used for the driver. The frequency response zone is from 14Hz to 24kHz. The impedence is 32 ohms. Without the cord, they weigh about 25g. The cord uses elastomer, and has a length of 0.5m. A 1m extension cord is included.

AudioTechnica Corporation will release the "ATH-ES5" headphones, which can be folded and easily transported, o­n November 1st. Although they are Open Price, indicators suggest they should cost around 10,000 yen. Two colors will be available: black (BK) and silver (SV).

These use the "Swing Adjust Mechanism" that when the housing is swung up and down, the earpad and position o­n ear can be adjusted. This is said to allow an easy fit to the ear, allowing for a stable wearing sensation.

The unit used has a 40mm diameter, and a neosium magnet driver. A CCAW voice coil is also used. The frequency response is from 10Hz to 25kHz. The impedence is 36 ohms.

Not o­nly can the section of the arm close to the housign part be folded inside, the earpads can also be rotated horizontally, which allows for compact storage. A storage pouch and replacement earpads are included.

The cord uses elastomer, and is 1.5m long. The weight without the cord is 66g.
