I thought this camera shown at Photokina 2004 was pretty nify, so I'm posting it here.

Also, it's important to mention that Contax is owned? by Kyocera. I am not 100% sure about the relationship between the two companies, but I do know that the Contax line is o­ne of Kyocera's camera brands.

The "Contax i4R" is founding model of the compact "i Series" of cameras which uses a completely new case, and has a 4MP image sensor. It uses a Carl Zeiss fixed lens, and the fashionable stick-like body that uses hairline construction at various places is its main feature. It is turned o­n by horizontally sliding the lens section.

The image sensor used is a 1/2.5", 4.19MP CCD sensor. It has a 35mm Carl Zeiss Tessar T* conversion lens, with a fixed focus, and F value of 2.8. Image recording sizes are 2272 x 1704, 1600 x 1200, 1280 x 960, and 640 x 480 - images are recorded in a JPEG format supporting Exif 2.2. The photography distance is 60cm to infinity, and when using macro, 5 - 60cm. ISO sensitivity can be changed between Auto and 50, 100, 200, and 400 modes.

Consecutive images can be recorded at the maximum resolution, when using no auto-focus, 3 comas per second - when using autofocus, this drops to 1.4 comas. It supports continuous photography until the memory card is full. It also supports recording 30fps movies at 640 x 480 or 320 x 240 resolutions. The recording limit of these movies is also until the memory card is full. WAV files up to 30 seconds long can also be recorded to go with each picture.

A 130,000 pixel 1.5" TFT LCD is used as a monitor. The body is 94 x 21 x 38.5mm (W x D x H), and the weight including battery and recording media is 90g. Said recording media is SD/MMC.
