Here's me playing catch-up for what I missed last night.
This "A1403K" from Kyocera for au has a baby-toy like design, with a bunch of round edges all over the place. Pictures explain better than I can, so I've got one for you.
I particularly like the appearance of "Black x Orange"; images of this particular color scheme are in the Inspired by article.
KDDI and Okinawa Cellular will release the "A1403K," a Kyocera made CDMA 1X phone which takes on an oval-like form, in late October.
The "A1403K" is a Kyocera-made CDMA 1X unit that uses a unique round design. The main display is a 2.2", QVGA 260,000 color TFT LCD, and the subdisplay is a 0.9" monochrome, and on the back of the phone. It features a CMOS camera with an actual resolution of 0.32MP, and EZ Movies (S/M/L size) can also be sent.
BREW Applis are supported, and memory for BREW is 32MB - otherwise, the main body has 10MB of memory. Advanced Wnn is used as a character input function. Ringers are also supported, but EZ Navi Walker is not.
Plenty of features are available on the phone, such as "Voice Support" which reads aloud the names of incoming callers, mail senders, and time, "Pair Mode" allowing for sending mails and making calls to frequently contacted parties, "Face Transformation Mode" allowing for the enjoyment of recorded images, picture diary, and finally "Petamemo Function" that will allow for phone numbers and mail addresses to be accessed from the idle screen.
"Smart Mode," which is preset to give simple operations for calling, mail, and camera, is available out of the box. "Big Character" will magnify characters, and the subdisplay features a "graphic window" function that will display information using animations.
Furthermore, Mr. Kazuo Iwasaki was the lead product designer in charge of designing both the "A1403K" itself and the interfaces throughout. Mr. Iwasaki was also the lead product designer for the "A5405SA," a Sanyo phone. Keeping the concept of the design simple, KDDI presents the "A1403K" as a "friendly design cellular phone." This keeps it apart from the "ishicoro" that was introduced in the past as a concept model.
The standby time is 270 hours, and the continuous talk time is 170 minutes. The dimensions are 54 x 95 x 27mm, and the phone weighs 116g. Three body colors will be available: Blue x Green, White x Gray, and Black x Orange.
