20.68 megapixels is a lot of pixels. 20,680,000 effective pixels, to be exact. Made for professionals, this camera certainly isn't cheap either.
Fujifilm Corporation will release the professional camera, the "Fujifilm Digital Camera Back DBP for GX680" in the back part of January. With 20.68 million effective pixels, it will cost about 2,380,000 yen.
When connected to the one-eye medium format "GX680 series" cameras from Fujifilm, this camera back can turn them into digital cameras. It was able to have a 20.68 megapixel resolution by employing a 52x37mm hella-big CCD, the "Super CCD Honeycomb." Equipped with an optical low-pass filter, it supresses false coloring and Moire to their lowest.
Using image pixel completion, it can output up to 41.36 megapixels. The output resolutions are 7648x5408, 6560x4640, 5248x3712, 3936x2784, and 2624x1856 pixels.
Writeable media is a Microdrive, and it writes using either CCD-RAW or JPEG (Exif 2.21 Standard) formats. It can take photographs in intervals of 1.5 coma/second, and can take a maximum of 7 comas. The camera supports ISO sensetivities of 50, 100, 160, and 200. Shutter speed is from 1/400 of a second to 8 seconds.
The main body size is 140x73x140mm (W x D x H), and without the media it weighs a total of 830 grams. It is also equpped with a 1.8 inch low-temperature polysilicon TFT LCD screen.
Interfacing with the PC is accomplished via IEEE 1394 (4 pin). Supported operating systems on the PC end are Windows 2000 (SP4), and XP (SP1) or on the Mac end, OS X 10.2.5 - 10.3.1.
