Somewhat cheap, if you're interested in SACDs.
Onkyo Corporation will release the "DV-SP502," a Progressive universal player that plays DVD Video/Audio, as well as SACD, on September 7th. It costs 48,300 yen.
The DV-SP502 is the successor to the "DV-SP501" release in October of 2003. It supports DVD Audio and SACD playback, making it "universal." Also supported is the playback of DVD Video, DVD-RW (Video/VR Mode), MP3, WMA, and JPEG.
As a Video DAC, it uses one that's 108MHz/12bit. onkyo has said that its high bit/high sampling-ization "allows for video playback low on noise." It has a "Last Memory" function that will save the stopped locations of up to 5 DVD discs, and the "RI terminal" allowing for the operations of onkyo AV amplifiers with the same remote controller.
There is 1 D2 output, 1 component output, and 1 S-Video output, 1 composite output, 1 coaxial digital output, 2 optical digital outputs, an analog 5.1ch output, and finally a 2ch analog output. The external dimensions are 435 x 309 x 81mm (W x D x H), and it weighs 3.5kg.
