If you need a PCI ATA adapter and don't feel like compromising, Buffalo's new dual solution should suit you well. It features compatibility with both parallel and serial ATA devices.
Buffalo Corporation will release the "IFC-ATS2P2," a PCI card with both serial and parallel ports, in the back part of August. It will cost 4,200 yen. Supported operating systems are Windows 2000 and XP.
It furnishes two serial ATA ports and one Ultra ATA-133 port. Two drives can be connected to the Ultra ATA port using an IDE cable. Thus, a total of four drives, where two are serial ATA and two are parallel ATA, are supported.
All of the ports are internal; there is no port for external connections.
The size of the unit without the bracket is 134.5 x 57mm (W x L).
