Our second DoCoMo article of the night is about a new FOMA phone made to be simple to use.



NTT DoCoMo has developed the the "FOMA Raku Raku Phone," a simple phone terminal supporting FOMA. Its released date has not yet been decided, and its price is planned to be Open Price.

The "FOMA Raku Raku Phone" is a Fujitsu made phone, and is the first of the Raku Raku Phone series to support FOMA services. o­n the reverse is a 320,000 pixel CMOS camera, and the inside has a 110,000 pixel CMOS camera used for video phone and the "Video Mail" function allowing for the sending of video as mail attachments.

Functions that make this phone "easy" include the "Light Navigation" feature that will light up a button o­n the phone when guidance for use of its features (such as audio calls and TV phone) can be shown o­n the screen, and voice announcements of incoming mails, calculator functions, i-Mode sites text, etc..

The main display is a 2.4", QVGA, 65,536 color TFT LCD. The subdisplay is a 1.2", 60 x 120 dot STN monochrome LCD.

Its idle time is about 270 hours, and the continuous talk time is 120 minutes for audio, and 85 minutes for TV phone. The size is 103 x 51 x 23mm (W x D x H), and it weighs about 120g. Three body colors will be available: silver, dark green, and bronze.
