They look like balls!

It works o­n so many levels.

Ricoh Corporation will release the limited edition "Let's Record Sports" 4x recording-use DVD+RW discs beginning o­n July 28th. They are Open Price.

The designs of baseballs, soccerballs, tennis balls, basketballs, and volleyballs are o­n the label. In the lineup is the 5 pack of baseball design discs, the "DRWD-4XCWBB5" (limited to 4000 packs), a 5 pack of soccerball design discs, the "DRWD-4XCWSC5" (limited to 4000 packs), and finally the "DRWD-4XCWSM5," containing 5 discs; o­ne of each design (limited 6000 packs). Each of the packs is estimated to cost around 2,300 yen.

"Each design is well suited for the recording of sports programs," says Ricoh. Since the discs use a special ink independently developed by Ricoh, they are said to give off an extremely real feeling. Also used is a special case in which 5 slim cases can be inserted.
