I've never encoded to DivX so I can't say how useful this is.
There's really nothing better to write about tonight. I've noticed a few other sites are going bonkers about FeliCa now, but to TechJapan readers, that's old news :)
Alpha Data Corporation will release the USB 2.0 video capturing unit, the "AD-MPEG4," that supports MPEG-1/2/4/DivX, in the back part of July. The price is Open Price, but the estimated retail price is 13,800 yen. The supported operating system is Windows XP.
With this USB 2.0 capture unit, and using a MPEG-1/2/4/DivX software encoder, realtime capturing is supported.
Capturing and encoding are done with the DVD authoring/video capturing/writing software, "WinDVD Creator 2." Supported video capturing resolutions are 720 x 480, 352 x 240, and 320 x 240. Still images can also be recorded in BMP.
The three inputs are composite, S-Video, and analog audio. Power comes by way of the USB bus. The external dimensions are 71 x 112 x 24mm (W x D x H), and the unit has a weight of 155g.
