With two 16cm subwoofers in each speaker, these probably produce just the right amount of bass for a Japanese room.

Kewood Corporation put the "LS-V530-W" low price "Tall Boy" speakers on sale in the latter part of November; each speaker has two 16cm subwoofers. The price is 35,000 yen for one.

The 3-way, 4 speaker system has two 16cm woofers, a 10cm squawker, and a 2.5cm semi-hard dome tweeter on each unit. It has a maximum input of 120W, and is rated for 60W. It is capable of playing frequencies 36Hz - 25kHz, and has an output pressure of 85dB/W(1m), with an impedance of 8 ohms.

The woofers use PP (Poly-propylene) vibration boards, and rubber edges. The vibration boards are of the injection molded type. Also, they use distortion abating long voice coils, for when there is large strokes in the music.

On the vibration boards of the tweeters, an evaporated aluminum resin has been applied. This allows for an excellent response time, and provides beautiful high pitched tones. They also support tones up to 25kHz by using large strontium type ferrite magnesium vibration boards. The squawkers use a unique cabinet type.

The enclosures are in the Bus Reflex shape, which cuts down on magnetic interference. The top and bottom sides of the cabinet are MDF, and the buffle side uses 18mm particle board. The front/rear surroundings use a rounded manufacturing process, which drastically reduces stray sounds from coming out of the unit.

The external dimensions of a speaker is 225x313x900mm (W x D x H), and it weighs 15.6kg. The speaker terminal is a gold screw type that also supports the Banana (BNC) connector.
