I have been struggling to find news worth reporting on today. These new Sanyo projectors will have to do.
Sanyo Electronics Corporation announced three new LCD projectors today, the "LP-XU56," "LP-XU51," and the "LP-SU51," each of which feature a self-correcting stand. The release date of the LP-XU56 and LP-XU51 is August 10th, and the release of the LP-SU51 is September 10th. The prices of the units are 491,400 yen, 386,400 yen, and 291,900 yen respectively.
The LP-XU56 and LP-XU51 both feature 0.8" 1024 x 768 dot polysilicon TFT LCD panels, and the LP-SU51 features this same panel at an 800 x 600 dot resolution. Brightness of the three units also vary, where the LP-XU56 has 2,500lm, and the LP-XU51 and LP-SU51 have 2,000lm. Other specifications are the same.
A feature called the "Auto Vertical Keystone Correction Function" will automatically correct any vertical strain placed on the stand. Horizontal adjustments, however, must be carried out manually. Also, the projectors feature "blackboard mode" that allows for the simple projection to surfaces such as blackboards or greenboards.
The lens features a 1.5x optical manual zoom. Its brightness is F1.7 ~ F2.5. All three of the devices use a 200W UHP light source, and have a contrast ratio of 450:1.
When the optional "POA-BOX20" (62,790 yen) multi-card imager is attached, wireless/wired LAN functions, and JPEG/BMP image display functions are added.
Video inputs are DVI-I (HDCP support) x 1, Analog RGB/Component (Mini D-Sub 15 pin) x 1, S-Video x 1, and Composite x 1. The external dimensions and weight of the units are 298 x 218 x 71mm (W x D x H), and 2.8kg.
