It has a 2.2" color QVGA screen, a CF slot, and uses Windows CE.NET as an OS.

Net-2com and Fujitsu Research Labs announced the development of an IEEE 802.11b wireless LAN supporting IP phone, that also has a CompactFlash (CF) slot. They plan o­n commercialization in the Fall of 2004. Its price is Open Price, and the estimated retail price is around 75,000 yen.

Said IP phone uses an Intel PXA273 as a CPU, and the OS is Windows CE.NET 4.2 - but Fujitsu has also said that they are looking into using Linux as an OS. Also, the CF slot supports the equipping of both memory cards and communication cards. For the communication cards, Fujitsu has said, "depending o­n the customer's use, the cards will be able to be equipped without asking someone in the communications industry."

The unit is loaded with Fujitsu's "Seamlesslink" software that supports the seamless switching between a special wireless LAN mobile IP server and public communications networks. The supported audio codecs for IP phone are G.711 and G.729a. Other specifications include a 2.2" QVGA color LCD display, and a USB port. Furthermore, the product had its hardware developed by Net-2com, and the software developed by Fujitsu Research Labs.

Net-2com, who aims for their Fall 2004 commercialization goal, has said that they will sell the device in both the Japanese and Chinese markets. In addition, the product supports Fujitsu's "Ubiquitous IP Phone System," so it is thought the phone will be used to expand enterprise-level mobile solutions. Also planned for inclusion in the product are application services such as Fujitsu Lab's "Task Computing Technology" which allow users to have free operation of information systems within their periphery.

The phone will be o­n display at both the "CHINA ELECOM 2004" going o­n at Shanghai from June 23rd and the "Fujitsu Solutions Forum 2004" going o­n in Tokyo from July 7th.
