Hope they float!

Pioneer Corporation will release the "PCR-BS10" portable bathtub speakers with a see-thru design in the back part of June. The price is Open Price. Indicators suggest they will cost around 3,000 yen. Two models are available: red (-R) and blue (-L).

These are active speakers which are certified for Level 4 JIS water resistance. They are intended for use in the bathroom or other places where the humidity is high. Portable audio devices are connected to it with their headphone port or line-out ports, and the audio device is then inteserted into the speaker case. The speakers also have a volume control knob.

An internal amplifier is featured, and it has a maximum output of 0.25W x 2ch. Using two speakers with 57mm diameters, it has an impedence of 8 ohms. When using 4 AA batteries, it can run for up to 12 hours at maximum volume.

The main body is made of ABS, and uses a curved shape. It also features a handle. The external dimensions are 260 x 95 x 180mm (W x D x H), and the weight is about 670g without the batteries.
