Although these look strikingly similar to the Sony LCD I'm using right now, that's fine by me. Features include the Wega Engine, enough integrated tuners to shake a stick at, TruSurround Digital 5.1, a Memory Stick slot, i.Link, and plenty of input jacks.
Sony will release the "KDL-L23RX2," a 23V" Wega with integrated digital tuner, on July 1st. The price is 315,000 yen.
This is a LCD with a pearl white keynote. Using a large speaker box and such, "aiming for the 'living interior' with accurate representation of life-like images and sound, 'New L.I.V.E (Living Interior for Visual Entertainment) Design' is used." The panel's resolution is 1280 x 768 dots. The viewing angle is 170 degrees, and it uses the "Super Wide Angle LCD Panel" that gives a brightness of 500cd/m2.
Onboard is the high quality conversion circuitry, the "Wega Engine," which keeps the signal in full digital processing from the time it enters until it is displayed on the screen. Using the "High Quality Panel Driver 2," it is said that levels can be like natural images. Furthermore, the "Contrast Enhancer" will make distinctions between light and darkness in a scene, and automatically control both the brightness and contrast, allowing for abundant and accurate representation of details such as those with fine black colors.
The internal tuner supports Terrestrial Digital, BS Digital, 110 CS Digital, and terrestrial analog signals. Apart from using 4 large speakers boxes with 2way speakers, it includes "TruSurround Digital 5.1ch" and a function to convert mono audio to virtual stereo.
Furthermore, the TV has a Memory Stick slot supporting Duo. It also features "Wega Gate," which displays menus depending on whether you want to "Watch TV," "Watch a video," "Listen to Music," or "Record video." Functions to record images and video to a Memory Stick for use on a Wega, record terrestrial analog broadcasts to a Memory Stick, and "Memory Stick Studio" for outputting to a Clie or cellular phone, are furnished - as well as the "i.LINK Studio" for interfacing with other i.Link devices.
The TV has i.Link x 2 and Ethernet, D4 x 2, S2 Video x 2, and Composite x 3 for video input. It also features an AV multi input, optical digital audio output, and headphone output. The external dimensions are 71.7 x 29 x 45.4mm (W x D x H, including stand), and it weighs 14.7kg.
