Seiko Epson has developed the world's largest OLED (organic light-emitting diode) display panel, 40 inches across the diagonal. Production is expected to commence in 2007.

Seiko Epson has again developed a world-first OLED product (in 2003 they developed an 2.1" OLED panel with 130ppi resolution, the highest available at that time). This active-matrix driven prototype is capable of displaying WXGA resolution (1,280x768, 38ppi) with 260 thousand colors. Its 4 substrate layers are created with an inkjet process similar to what Epson uses in their printers.

Epson plans to cater for the entire market with their display panel product line-up: OLED for 40" and below, rear projection TVs for sizes larger than 40", and low temperature polysilicon TFT-LCD and MD-TFD for mobile devices. They've already shown us the world's largest rear projection TV (63.7 inches, 1080p) with high temperature polysilicon (HTPS) technology at EDEX2004 last month, and they will annouce a new rear projection product at the end of this month.
