Hey, with an aspect ratio of 4:3, it might actually be useful in America...
Other features include a 1024 x 768 resolution, which goes nicely with the D-Sub 15 pin input.
Sharp Corporation will release the "LC-20K1-S," a 20" LCD TV with a 4:3 aspect ratio, on June 1st. The price is 176,400 yen. A remote controller is included.
The TFT LCD panel is a 20" ASV style low reflection black panel capable of display 1024 x 768 dots. The viewing angle is 170 degrees from all angles, and the brightness is 500cd/m2. In addition to "QS technology" which reduces afterimage effects, it features "Film Mode" that is suitable for using DVD as a film source, and a "3D Movement Adaptation I/P Conversion" function that reduces flickering of text.
Both BS analog and terrestrial analog tuners are onboard, and the terrestrial analog tuner features ghost reduction circuitry. It also features a 3D Y/C Filter, and a "brightness sensor" that will automatically adjust the brightness of the screen to match the brightness of the room in which you are watching it.
The TV features left and right 5.7cm diameter full range speakers. Between the 5W x 2ch 1-bit digital amplifier and the "Bus Reflect Speaker Box" construction, it is said that "it can project sound very strongly."
Also, in addition to the "Virtual Dolby Surround" feature that creates a surround sound effect using only the 2 front speakers, the TV features an audio clarity function that makes the sounds easier to comprehend even when the sound is low such as late at night.
The TV furnishes D4 x 2 inputs, S-Video x 1 input, and Composite x 2 inputs. It also furnishes an Analog RGB (D-Sub 15 pin) connection for signal from a PC. The power consumption is 82W (0.45W when on standby), and the yearly power consumption is about 107kWh/year. The external dimensions are 67.3 x 24.4 x 45.2cm (W x D x H, including table stand), and it weighs about 8.8kg including the stand.
