You can probably tell from the name, but this phone is made to be small. It's made for the MOVA network (not FOMA), too.

NTT DoCoMo has developed the "premini," a straight-type i-Mode phone with a small size and simple functions. They have not presented the release date or price. NTT held an announcement event at the "Business Show TOKYO 2004" convention, currently going on at Tokyo's Big Site. NTT spoke about the phone itself and some development concepts.

The "premini" by Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications is an i-Mode phone that focuses on simple functions and has a small size. The name is said to come from combining "premier" and "mini." It is not a FOMA unit - it is a MOVA (PDC) unit, and the product number "S0213i" has been assigned to it. As this is the newest phone in the "simple" i-Mode 21Xi series, it does not feature a camera.

The size of the phone is 90 x 39 x 19 (H x W x T), and it weighs a mere 69g, meaning it can fit easily in the palm of one's hand. The case design is reminiscent of certain European GSM units, and is made from anodized aluminium. on the upper part of the phone, there is a sunken handle-like antenna, and it spreads down past the keys to the bottom of the unit with a slope. Even on this small body, the number keys made to operate the unit are not flat, but the "slope keys" protrude slightly.

For a main display, the phone uses a 1.3", 160 x 128 dot, 65,536 color TFT LCD. The font sizes can be changed to four sizes ranging from 10 dots to 16 dots, and the menu color scheme can be chosen from 5 patterns. Also, "POBox" is featured as Japanese input assistance.

Since the data transmission rate is only 9.6kbps, DoPa is not supported. The idle time is over 300 hours, and the continuous talk time is more than 100 minutes. Two body colors are available - Black and Silver, though the black model has silver sides and the silver model has black sides.
