Two downscan convertors in less than a week! This o­ne converts up to 1600x1200, and supports 480i when using Component output.

Alpha-Data Inc. will release the "SmartDVD Viewer" (Product code: AD-DSC) downscan convertor in the middle of December. The maximum supported resolution is 1600x1200. Though officially "Open Price," indicators suggest it to be around 9,800 yen.

The SmartDVD Viewer is an Analog RGB signal to video signal downscan convertor, which can accept resolutions of 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1152x864,1280x1024, and 1600x1200.

Equipped with an Analog RGB D-Sub 15 pin connector for input, the device supports output using Composite, S-Video, and Component connections. Power is DC5V, which comes from a USB connection with the PC.

It comes with a dedicated remote, image adjustment (brightness, contrast, chroma, tint, and fine-tuning adjustments such as horizontal and vertical adjustments, position, flcker), a zoom function, and a "pause image" function, allowing for freezing the image o­n the screen.

The external dimensions are 130x85x25mm (W x H x D), and it weighs 140g. In addition to a VGA passthrough cable, it also comes packaged with a Component > D1 plug convertor cable, S-Video cable, Composite Cable, and Component cable.
