Obvious use: putting your PC image on your HDTV. Sounds cool.
SKNet, Inc. will put the "High Vision TV Presenter (SK-VGHDA)" on sale December 18th, which is a convertor for putting your PC screen on a High Definition TV. Although it is officially "Open Price," early indicators point in the direction of around 30,000 yen.
The box is a convertor which takes a PC's analog RGB signal and converts for HDTV output. SKNet recommends use of the device for presentations, advertisement displays, DVD Video watching, editing movies, and PC operational demonstrations.
Using a "CX25871" video encoder chip from Conexant, it can output resolutions of up to 1,280 x 1,024 pixels to a television. Since it uses Adaptive Flicker Filtering, it drastically reduces filter, and is compatible with 4:3 Letterbox and 16:9 aspect ratios. Also, brightness, contrast, sharpness, hue, and color can be adjusted onboard using OSD.

Input is via a 15 pin D-Sub connector. Output is with a D terminal (D2~D4), Component output, S-Video output, or Composite output. It is also equipped with a RGB passthrough connector.
The external dimensions are 185 x 135 x 29mm (W x L x H), and the unit weighs 310 grams. In addition to an AC adapter, Composite, S-Video, Component, D-Sub, and VGA cables are included.
