IO Data Device is coming out with a LAN HD that's 300GB.
It can also connect to the AVeL LinkPlayer, the DivX/XviD DVD player from the same company.

IO Data Device Corporation will release the "LANDISK HDL-300U," a LAN hard drive with a 300GB capacity, in the back part of April. The price is 63,000 yen.

The LANDISK HDL-300U has a 100Base-TX/10Base-T interface, and connects easily to an Ethernet network. It can also act as a media server for the "AVeL LinkPlayer," a network media player with DVD±R/RW drive, also from IO Data Devices. Since it supports Wake on LAN, the LinkPlayer can wake up the hard drive. The maximum transfer speed is 94.5Mbps (with FTP transfer). on the back of the drive are two USB ports, so the device can be connected to a PC as a USB hard disk, or connected to a printer.

Also featured is that capability to backup PC data with automatic compression, and the "Simple Backup to LinkStation" utility to backup data to another HD-HGLAN series connected to the same network.

Supported operating systems are Windows 98, NT 4.0 (SP4+), Me, 2000 Professional, and XP, as well as Mac OS 8.1 - 9.2.2/10.1+.
