Other features include a 256MB capacity, FM tuner, voice recorder, USB 2.0 connection, WMA playback, etc.

Creative Media Corporation (Japan) will release the "Creative MuVo Slim," a MP3/WMA player with voice recording function and an internal FM tuner, in the back part of April. Two models are available - the 256MB "CNMVSL256" and the 128MB "CNMVSL128." Both are Open Price, but indicators suggest the 256MB model will cost around 21,000 yen, and the 128MB model will cost around 17,000 yen.

The MuVo Slim is a portable MP3/WMA player that has an FM tuner and voice recording functions all in a body 7mm thick. It supports connection to a computer via USB 2.0, and acts as USB Mass Storage. Supported operating systems are Windows 98SE, ME, 2000, and XP.

Playback of 32-320kbps MP3 files and 64-192kbps WMA files is supported. VBR MP3 file playback is also supported, as well as display of Japanese ID3 tags. The LCD display is 132 x 32 dots, and has a blue EL backlight.

The battery used in the player is a removable rechargeable Lithium Ion. The playback time is a maximum of 17 hours (when playing 128kbps MP3 files).

Voice recording is recorded in monaural, 8kHz IMA ADPCM 4bit format, and the maximum recording time o­n the 256MB model is 16 hours. Recording of stereo (16kHz) FM radio is also possible.

An equalizer is also included, and has ROCK, JAZZ, CLASSICAL, and POP presets, and there is also o­ne custom setting. Firmware upgrading is also supported. The external dimensions and weight of the player is 85 x 55 x 7mm (W x D x T), and 46g (including battery) respectively. File transfer/management software ("MediaSource2"), headphones, and an exclusive carrying case are included.

As an option, replacement Lithium Ion batteries, "DAP-MVAB2" and a USB battery charger, the "DAP-UC001" will be available o­n Creative's direct sale site in May. The price of the DAP-MVAB2 is 3,149 yen, and the DAP-UC001 will be 2,079 yen.
