RWC announced their portable AV player today, and it seems like a pretty good deal - about $200. Then again, the specifications make no mention of it coming with a SD card (the device reads videos off external memory), so you'd need to get o­ne of those. Add how it doesn't support USB 2.0, doesn't support XviD (or at least the specs don't say it does), doesn't have rechargeable batteries, and you get closer to it being a rip. Still, this is a step in the right direction, so you may want to wait a couple months before the next version.
What I do like about this player, however, is the size - especially after that brick from Archos.

RWC Corporation will release the "Arex PocketMX," (ZVAV-100) a portable AV player that supports DivX playback, in May. The official price is Open Price, but indicators suggest it should cost around 20,000 yen.

The Arex PocketMX is a portable AV player with a 2.5" TFT LCD display. SD memory card/MMC recordable media is used, and the interface is USB 1.1.

Playable files include MPEG-4, AVI, DivX, HHE (original), and MP3. The device is also DivX Certified. The resolution of the display is 480 x 234. Power comes from 4x AAA batteries, and these can play video for about 10 hours. For a CPU, it uses Motorola's "DragonBall i.MX."

The external dimensions and weight are 112 x 29.6 x 75.4mm (W x D x H), and 125g (just unit). 2 earphone jacks are furnished o­n the unit.

Inside the package users will find a protective cover, earphones, a USB cable, and Windows video editing software.
