I generally don't report on stuff like this, but I thought this was a damn cool looking case. It also has a nice amount of functionality. The "JAZZ Take5" may remind you of a Mayan pyramid with its step-based shape. The case has 6 different drive bays. Also, this case *could* see a USA release, as Soldam USA does exist, and they do indeed sell computer cases.
Hey, I wonder how much this would weigh with 6 case rocks in it!
Soldam announced their new "JAZZ Take5" ATX case. Just as the name indicates, this model inherits the same sloping front-face "JAZZ Concept." The features this time include a wide expandibility value, and cooling potential. A model without a power source is being sold on the Soldam online store for 30,800 yen (32,340 yen with tax). It should see a storefront release around April 10th.
The JAZZ Take5 furnishes 6 5" drive bays, and has a sloping front pace. In addition to the 6 5" drive bays, it holds 4 3.5" drive bays inside, making for a large expandibility potential. The case is available in silver and black colors, and they will be available including a 350W VariusII-350 power source, up to a 500W VariusII-500 in 50W intervals. As an option, there is a "General USB2.0 Kit" available which allows for front-panel access to USB 2.0, IEEE1394, audio jacks, etc..
Another feature of the case is the cooling factor. The standard setup is a 8cm fan in the front, at the lower part, and a 12cm quiet fan in the back part. As a cooling option, you can also get the "Direct Cooling Reinforcement Kit" which takes up two of the 5" drive bays, and you can also get the "Direct Cooling Style Reinforcement HDD Holder Kit" which would allow you to still mount HDDs in said 5" drive bays. It can also use the water-cooling AquaGizmo. As an added bonus, when using the AquaGizmo, one can still use the internal 12cm fan - when combined with the AquaGizmo's 8cm fan, the cooling ability of the AquaGizmo can go from 150W to 180W. one could make their "best balance PC" by finding the right mix of expansion and cooling.
