NTT DoCoMo officially announced that they will begin offering their unlimited data plan on June 1st. The name? "Pake Ho-dai."
"Pake" would be short for "packet," and "Ho-dai" means "all you can____." For example, "all you can eat" is called "viking" or "tabehoudai."
And so I've dubbed NTT DoCoMo's new unlimited data plan "All You Can PACKET!" I honestly don't think they could have chosen a better name.

NTT DoCoMo will begin their "All You Can PACKET!" service in June 1st, which is an unlimited packet (as in, data packet) plan for FOMA's i-Mode service, available for 3,900 yen per month. Applications for the same service will be taken from May 20th. Also, packet costs for FOMA's Packet Packs will be reduced as much as 50% starting May 1st.

"All You Can PACKET!" is an unlimited packet transfer plan fixed rate service that includes i-Mode mail, and other i-Mode services. It is targetted at users of the "FOMA Plan 67," "FOMA Plan 100," and "FOMA 150" payment plans. Discount services such as family discount, year-long discount, and two-month prepay can be continued. But data transfer with devices such as PC or PDA, and other non-i-Mode packet transfers will not be under the new "All You Can PACKET," though there will be discounts to them when used jointly with Packet Packs. Usage charges for certain i-Mode sites and i-Mode contracts still apply.

The names of the FOMA Packet Packs will be changed, and the costs lowered, as shown below:

Previous Name New Name Cost
Packet Pack 20 Packet Pack 10 1,000 yen/month (0.1 yen/packet)
Packet Pack 40 Packet Pack 30 3,000 yen/month (0.05 yen/packet)
Packet Pack 80 Packet Pack 60 6,000 yen/month (0.02 yen/packet)

There may be certain cases where users of "All You Can PACKET!" will be unable to use the service, due to excessive network traffic.
