Not much to say beyond the headline, except that the phone will use the Symbian OS.
Fujtsu and Mitsubishi Electronics presented that they will begin investigation into the joint development of a phone for NTT DoCoMo's FOMA service.
The companies are aiming for developing a FOMA unit that uses the Symbian OS, and has a high level of functionality. Fujitsu currently offers a FOMA unit that uses the Symbian OS. Currently, however, neither the schedule of investigation, nor WHAT will be investigated has been decided.
NTT DoCoMo currently has the prospect of using Linux and/or Symbian OS on all of their FOMA units, and NEC and Matsushita units may use Linux.
