For the Japanese student in you, Personal Media is bringing out a new notebook with "Ultra Kanji 4" pre-installed. Think of "Ultra Kanji 4" as an operating system specifically designed around the Japanese language.
Personal Media Corporation will release the "Ultra Kanji Notebook Y2C" notebook PC on March 22nd, with Ultra Kanji 4 pre-installed.
Based on Matsushita Electric Corporation's "Let's note CF-Y2C," this computer has the "B-right/V R4" Ultra Kanji 4 BTRON3 specification OS included. Windows XP Professional is also installed, and dual-boot is possible.
The CPU is a low-voltage Pentium M 1.20GHz, with a Intel 855GM chipset, 256MB of memory, and the PC is equipped with a 40GB HD, DVD-ROM/CD-RW combo drive, Ethernet, IEEE 802.11b wireless LAN, and a 14.1" LCD screen with SXGA (1280x1024) dot resolution.
8GB of the hard drive is assigned to Ultra Kanji 4. The combo drive is also recognized as a CD-ROM drive by Ultra Kanji 4. Also, the wireless LAN function can additionally be used while using Windows XP.Ultra Kanji 4 includes word processing, spreadsheet, browser, and mailing software. It also has "Programming Language T," a Japanese software development suite designed by University of Tokyo's Professor Ken Sakamura.
The main body size is 309 x 243 x 33~46mm (W x D x H), and it weighs 1,499g.
