IO Data enters the 8x media market, which likely means lower prices all across the board - IO Data typically offers low cost (yet not necessarily low quality) products.
IO Data Electronics Corporation will ship 8x write supporting DVD-R media and DVD+R media sometime in March. There is the "DVD-8R4.7" 5 disc DVD-R pack, and the "DVD-8R4.7P" 5 disc DVD+R pack, each available for 4,200 yen.
Both of these media support writing at 8x. The price for one disc comes to 840 yen. IO Data recommends this media for users of their drives.
