Following suit of IBM Japan and NEC, Fujitsu has begun selling used PCs o­n their website.
They are a bit odd in terms of specifications, but Fujitsu is offering some compensation for the certain disabilities the PCs may have. More information inside.

Fujitsu began the sale of used Fujitsu PCs, dubbed "Refreshed PCs" o­n their direct sale website, "WEBMART" o­n the 19th.

These are PCs intended for business use whose rental periods have expired. According to Fujitsu, they have been re-examined, the hard drives have been formatted, recycled, cleaned, and verified of operation, and they also include a 6 month warranty. Also, while it will act as compensation (as in, they will not fix it but simply replace), a support desk is also open.

The fingerprint verification, security button, and smart card functions are no useable. Also, when purchased, writing to CD-R/RW is not possible, nor is DVD playback; users must download a driver from the Fujitsu website.

There may also be a few cases where a dummy card for the PC card slot is missing, connector covers are missing, or some cosmetic damage to the external housing of the computer.

While a keyboard, mouse, and power cable are included, other accessories will be included, these may be different from the o­nes included when the unit was newly purchased. As a general rule, the pre-installed software is o­nly Windows XP.

Both IBM Japan and NEC have been in the recycled PC industry since 2003, also with the names "Refreshed PC."
