Set to go on sale September 30th, the GPR-100 has a price tag of 56,700 yen.
The watch provides realtime display of running distance and speed. It is part of the company's "PHYS" brand of watches for athletes, and takes advantage of "EWLP" high-density packaging technology to bring together a 19mm GPS antenna and a 11x12mm GPS module. The result is a watch roughly the same size as a standard wristwatch, but with added GPS functionality.
Besides the normal clock and stopwatch functions, running distance and speed can be display through the GPS function, and a "Pace Recognition Function" can display the difference between a pre-determined time/distance and the actual time/distance. Furthermore, gone are the days of adjusting the watch because you're in a different timezone; this data is also acquired from the GPS satellites, so you needn't adjust the watch regardless of where in the world you travel. A lithium-ion battery provides about 4.3 hours of battery life with 3 hours of charging.
