The second of NTT DoCoMo's highly anticipated 900i series cellular phones now has a scheduled release date: February 22nd.

NTT DoCoMo will release the second of the new FOMA "900i" series phones, the NEC "N900i" o­n February 22nd.

The "N900i" is a FOMA phone of NEC make, whose "Aqualine" design emphasizes curved lines. The main display is a 2.2 inch QVGA (240 x 320) TFT display capable of displaying up to 65,536 colors, and the subdisplay o­n the rear side is a 0.9 inch 120x30 dot STN display capable of displaying 4,096 colors. The back side of the phone has a macro switch for recording images using the 2MP Super CCD Honeycomb camera, and the main display side has a 0.1MP CCD camera. It features max 6.2x zoom, and a "chance capture" function which will record a fixed time from a certain point.

The right side of the main body is equipped with a miniSD card slot, for saving images recorded by the camera, and it also acts as a USB reader/writer when connected to a PC.

The size is 102 x 48 x 26mm (H x W x D) and it weighs 115g. Standby time is 430 hours, idle time 350 hours, audio talk time 140 minutes, and video phone time is 90 minutes. There are three body color variations to be available: orange, silver, and black. The popular RPG "DragonQuest" (iAppli version) also comes preset.
