AVEmania had a choice: his camera or his life.

Victim
AVEmania of Osaka Prefecture
Scene of Accident
A pedestrian crossing in Hsinchu, Taiwan
Broken Item
Canon IXY DIGITAL
Details of Accident
In May of last year I was in Taiwan on a business trip. When I was hastily crossing the street, either because of the weight of my luggage or because my rucksack was open, my awesome IXY DIGITAL took a nasty spill. I noticed that I dropped it, but since the light had already changed, I couldn't go back to retrieve it. I just stood there wishing "don't get hit..." But, as fate would have it, my IXY DIGITAL died before my very eyes.
Repair Costs
I think you can get one for around 5,000 yen even if you get it used, but I used this one for a while so it was full of memories. It's not something you can put into numbers.
More from the Contributor
I went ahead and bought an IXY DIGITAL 600, but when I got back to Japan this person at work just busted out laughing, so it was pretty terrible. Since this accident, I've used a rucksack without a top flap.
