Pioneer has a new model of their "Sugureco" video recorders o­n the horizon. It's loaded with an 800GB hard drive and DVD burner.

Pioneer announced a High Definition "Sugureco" (DVR-DT1000), which features o­n 800GB hard drive, o­n March 14th. This model adds more hard drive to the "DVR-DT90/70," announced in December of last year. Release is planned for late April, and it will be Open Price. Estimates put it around 180,000 yen.

With a greater hard drive capacity, up to 92 hours of terrestrial digital broadcasts can be recorded under "DR" mode (TS recording), which records these broadcasts in their original resolutions. Other specifications are the same as the DVR-DT90, such as the digital 3-way tuner and analog tuner, so the unit supports dual recording of two TV programs: o­ne digital and o­ne analog.

The DVD drive supports records DVD-R at 12x and DVD-RW at 6x. Although writing to DVD-R DL media that supports CPRM is possible, the drive is slightly different from the multi-drive of the model with an analog tuner also announced today, so it does not support writing to DVD-RAM or DVD+R DL. It does not support external hard drives.

Other supported features include "Baseball Extension Support" and "Drama Extension Support" which supports delays because of sports broadcasts running over, as well as "Listen to you! Recording Dictionary," "New Program Search," and "Omakase Search," with enhance the effectiveness of searches. It also has an EPG and mail schedule function that supports display in 1920 x 1080 pixels.

For video output, the unit has o­ne of each of the following jacks: HDMI, D4, S-Video, and Composite. It has 3 S-Video/Composite jacks for video input. The external dimensions are 420 x 363 x 94mm (W x D x H), and the weight is 6.9kg. It also has a DV jack.
