Like always, I took my computer to school, but didn't realize what happened until I went to use it during class. It seems that the way I stacked my bags was unstable, so when I fell over o­n my bike, it was broken.

Repair Costs
At the shop, the guy told me he wouldn't know until he asked the maker, but he estimated the LCD panel would be about 70,000 yen to replace, and that there would be a technical fee of about 20,000 yen, so he said I should prepare about 100,000 yen for repairs. Since it wasn't under warranty, I had to pay all of these costs myself, so I just gave up and put in a bid for a used model of the same machine at an auction. Even though it was used, it came to about 150,000 yen including shipping.

A while ago, I dropped my computer when my hand slipped, and it was 80,000 yen to repair. Since I hadn't really even used it for the month since that happened, this was a bit of a shock. I bought this computer for about 170,000, but I've spent a ton more than that o­n it. To cut back o­n expenses, I got a thin case for it at a 100 yen shop, but it seems that did nothing to protect against the impact.

I thought about just connecting it to an external display and switching it over, but my house is a bit far from school, and I felt the ominous premonition that it too would be broken, so I just gave up o­n that idea. From now o­n, to avoid this kind of thing, I will take full care to prevent these kinds of impacts.
