NTT DoCoMo will be releasing the "NM850iG," a Nokia handset with support for both W-CDMA and GSM.
NTT DoCoMo will release the "NM850iG" on February 24th, a FOMA handset made by Nokia with support for both W-CDMA and GSM systems.
The "NM805iG" is a Nokia handset that supports both W-CDMA (2GHz) and GSM (900/1800/1900MHz) systems. Looking at the appearance makes it seem as though the base model is the "Nokia 6630," but DoCoMo said that "there are parts of the specifications that have changed, so we can't say it's based on the 6630." Also, this handset is the base model for Vodafone's "702NK."
It supports i-Mode, and major specifications include a 1.3MP CMOS camera, audio playback (AAC only), Bluetooth, and a calculator that can convert weight and other measurements. It does support TV Phone, but since there is only a camera on the back of the unit, a substitution image must be used. It can also use i-Appli, but the DoJa version is 1.55e. It is on par with the 503i series of handsets, which means that its capabilities are roughly the same as DoJa 1.0, when i-Appli were first released. Also, while the Nokia 6630 supported the installation of native applications, this NM850iG does not.
It includes a 2.1" TFT LCD that measures 176 x 208 dots and can display 65,536 colors. It can use as much as 256MB of removable memory in the form of a RS-MMC card. A 32MB card is included in the package. It measures 60 x 110 x 21mm, and weighs 129g. Its continuous domestic idling time while still is 290 hours, and while moving it is 160 hours -- in GSM, it is 260 hours. Domestically, users can talk for 170 minutes, and while overseas (GSM), 360 minutes. The TV Phone time is 100 minutes. The body color is Pearl White.
