Good old SolidAlliance is at it again -- their latest is a line of MP3 players with fragrances such as chocolate, lemon, and blueberry.

SolidAlliance Corporation has released the "iCool MP3 Player (256MB)," a line of MP3 players that are inserted inside scented cases. The price is 6,980 yen. The scented cases are removable, and 6 types are available; two cases are included with each product. The three combinations available are chocolate/rose, strawberry/lemon, and cherry/blueberry. Supported operating systems are Windows Me, 2000, XP, as well as Mac OS 9.0 and above.

The MP3 player is made by AudioTronic and supports the playback of MP3, WMA, and WAV, and its biggest feature is the ability to attach a scented case to it. It contains 256MB of memory, and also provides an SD/MMC card slot. Connection with a PC is via USB 2.0, and both English and Chinese languages can be displayed.

SolidAlliance said, "It's a good present for Valentine's Day/White Day, as it stimulates the sense of hearing through music, the sense of sight through an easy to understand design, the sense of touch through a sensitive control system with a few quirks, and finally the sense of smell, which is said to be correlated with memories." Also, the company stated that they are currently investigating the development of MP3 players that stimulate the sense of taste.
