This seems like a simple concept, but anyone who has owned small headphones (and needed to put them somewhere small) will realize that this is pretty useful. The cable for the headphones winds up inside of each earpiece.

Matsushita Electical Industries Corporation will release the "RP-HS102" headphones on March 1st, which have the the feature of the cable winding up inside of each earpiece. While they are Open Price, indicators suggest the price to be around 2,700 yen. The lineup will be a total of 10 colors available: 4 metallic colors, 3 pearl colors, and 3 matte colors.

This is an update to the "RP-HS101" released in June of 2002. The previous model had the capability to roll up only the plug cord inside the housing. As for the HS102, both plug cord and neck cord can be rolled up inside the unit, called "W(Double)."

This is in response to overwhelming demand from users who said "I want to be able to carry it on the go with the entirety of both cords rolled up."

Additionally, the plug cord and neck cord can be adjusted during use, with a total of 12cm of adjustment. When rolling up, the stereo plug at the end of the cable goes into the housing unit. The cord length is 1m, and the neck cord is 0.5m.

The unit's aperture is 30mm, and it uses an opening & closing type hanger to fit on the ear. With the use of high elasticity polyamide resin, the fitting on the ear has been improved. The driver uses a Neosium Magnet.

The impedence is 20 ohms, and sound senstivity is 108dB/mW. The frequency response is from 14Hz - 24kHz. Including the cord, the weight is 40g, and a carrying pouch is included.
