There are four new models of JVC's "Alneo" audio players due out soon. The company will also introduce a portable speaker to match.
Japan Victor Corporation announced four new modles of the "Alneo" portable audio player on January 25th. The "XA-E105," "XA-E103," "XA-E55," and "XA-E53" will be availabe from late February. All are Open Price, but the XA-E105 (1GB, w/ FM and voice recording) is estimated at 25,000 yen, the XA-E103 (1GB) at 23,000 yen, the XA-A55 (512MB, w/ FM and voice recording) at 19,000 yen, and the XA-E53 (512MB) at 17,000 yen.
The players use a round-form design that allows users to enjoy a "jewelry sensation." The size is 73 x 17.5 x 41mm, and the weight about 39g. Color variations of the player to match the "SP-A220" portable speaker (3,500 yen) will be available.
A feature of the players is "Direct Recording," which allows for direct recording by connection with minicomponent systems; this feature is also equipped with Auto-matching Level Control (ALC). It is furnished with a Line-in jack (analog) for recording from minicomponent systems, radio cassette players, audio CDs, and so on. The ALC function will automatically adjust the recording levels.
Both WMA (with DRM) and MP3 playback is supported. They have an "18bit SigmaDelta D/A Converter," which is said to faithfully reproduce even the most minute nuances of audio. Neckstrap-type headphones with highly magnetic neosium magnets are included. The XA-E105 and XA-E55 also include an FM tuner and voice recording capabilities. USB Mass Storage is supported. Finally, the players are equipped with a "5 Preset Equalizer" for adjusting audio properties depending on the music.
An internal lithium ion battery supplies power. An AC adapter is included, and the player can also recharge via USB. on a full charge, it will get about 15 hours of playback.
