-W41H

The W41H is a CDMA 1XWIN handset made by Hitachi that supports "One-seg" terestrial digital broadcasts. Support is also provided for au's "LISTEN MOBILE SERVICE" music service. It will be released in early February.

To fulfill its role of offering an enjoyable TV-watching experience, the W41H has a 2.7" 240 x 400 WQVGA TFT LCD display capable of displaying approx. 65,000 colours. It supports full-screen display of o­ne-seg broadcasts o­n the wide LCD as well as closed captioning.

Approximately 3 hrs 45 mins of TV viewing is possible o­n a full battery charge. A time-shift playback function is provided and approximately 2 minutes of footage can be saved at any o­ne time. During time-shift playback, 1.3x playback and fast-forward functions can be used to catch-up with the regular broadcast. Time-shifting is controlled using a button mounted o­n the side of the LCD display.

Using the 70MB of internal memory, up to 30 minutes of o­ne-seg programming can be recorded. Data broadcasts and the main/sub audio channels are also recorded. Still images taken during recording can also be saved. Three levels of image quality adjustment are provided - standard, cinema and vivid.

A 2-axis hinge allows the phone's LCD to be turned outwards ("View Style" mode) so that it can be used just like a small LCD TV when mounted o­n the included TV stand. The angle of the TV stand can be adjusted between 15 and 30 degrees. The TV function can be set to automatically activate when the phone is placed in the TV stand. In "View Style" mode, buttons o­n the side of the LCD display allow control of the channel, volume, recording and time-shifting. Reception of analog TV is not supported.

The new "au LISTEN MOBILE SERVICE" is supported for music playback. The installed "au Music Player" allows the playback of music imported from CDs using the "au Music Port" PC software. Music can be stored in the 70MB internal memory or o­n miniSD card. An SD-Audio player is also provided and SD-Audio files (ASF format) can also be played back.

The W41H is also compatiable with the "Osaifu Keitai" service and supports security function including FeliCa lock, quick delete and remote auto-lock.

The auto-focus CMOS camera has an effective resolution of 2.07 megapixels. Photos taken from an angle can be adjusted to appear as if they were taken front-on with the "Business Photo" function. The phone is equipped with a PC website browser, PC document browser and IR communications. MiniSD cards up to 1GB in size are supported.

Other features include Hello Messenger, "Kikasete Search", "Oto de Input" EZ Navi-Walk, Safe Navi and an FM radio. The included BREW version 3.1 supports phone software updates. The phone also supports au IC cards and GLOBAL EXPERT.

The W41H is 53 x 106 x 27 mm in size and weighs approximately 159 grams. The maximum standby and talk times are 240 hours and 220 minutes respectively. Two colours are available - Infinity Black and Grace White.
