Sony will release the "MSV-A1" Mobile AV Viewer, with an internal TV tuner, as well as MPEG4 recording/playback capabilities, on November 10th.

The price, again officially listed as "open price", should be somewhere around 45,000 yen.

The MSV-A1 features a 2.5" TFT LCD display with a resolution of 560x220 pixels. It also utilizes an integrated TV tuner (antenna), as well as a Memory Stick Duo slot and Lithium-Ion rechargeable batteries. In addition to have a standard cradle with an external antenna, the device also features the ability to use your headphone cable as an antenna, allowing for TV viewing and recording while on the go.

In addition to playing movies recorded on the device itself, the MSV-A1 can also playback shows recorded using Sony's new Wega series TVs. Recording times can be scheduled at specific times, as well as for daily or weekly programming. Even if turned off during play, the device can resume play from the previous position using this recording ability.

The play modes are as follows:
High Quality (384kbps video, 128kbps audio)
Standard Quality (216kbps video, 128kbps audio)
Long Playback (96kpbs video, 32kbps audio)

While High and Standard Quality settings record at a resolution of 320x240 pixels, Long Playback records at 160x112 pixels. The framerate of all modes is 15fps. Audio is recorded in Mono MPEG-4 AAC. But, when recording from an external AV source, recording can be done in stereo using High and Standard Quality settings.

When using a 128mb Memory Stick Duo, recording at high quality can be done for 30 minutes, standard quality 60 minutes, and long playback 120 minutes. Batteries should last for about an hour.On the main device is a headphone jack, and the included stand has an external antenna port, and external composite jack.

Playback of still JPEG images is supported, with index images at a resolution of 160x120 pixels.

The external dimensions of the device are 61 x 95 x 23.5 mm ( W x L x H), and weighs 120 grams with the battery. It comes packaged with a stand, antenna head phones, battery pack, AV adapter, a 16mb Memory Stick Duo, and antenna sharing cable.
