Mikimoto is releasing a head-mounted display from a Korean manufacturer that uses organic EL displays instead of LCDs. It has a resolution of 800 x 600, too, which I believe is pretty high for such a device. The price is also high.
Mikimoto Corporation will release the "i-Visor FX601," a product made by Daeyang E&G of Korea, in their "Mikimoto Beans" brand on December 12th. Its price is 367,500 yen.
This mirrored-glass style display that features 800x600 dot organic EL panels consists of a display section and a control section. It displays video by being connected with a PC via analog RGB. The image is focused at a distance of 2 meters, and appears as a 60" screen. It uses an independent curved surface prism with low distortion, and the viewing angle has been improved to 42 degrees. It also has a function for the display of 3D objects.
It contains speakers, and has an analog audio input on the side of the display piece. Power is supplied by USB. The dimensions of the display are 170 x 200 x 55mm (W x d x H, when open), and it weighs under 120g. Headphones and a soft case are included.
