The USB memory device market has been completely overrun by devices of every shape, size, and extreme of technical specification.

But there's something about IO Data's new "Totebag SQUARE" that I really like. Is it the aluminum case? Is it the fact that it's not much larger than a silver dollar? I don't know, but I want one.

IO Data Device Corporation will release the "Totebag SQUARE" USB 2.0 flash memory in late November.

The "Totebag SQUARE," which as a body size of 33 x 33 x 7.7mm (W x D x H), and weight of 10g, is a square shaped thin style USB memory available in 256MB, 512MB, and 1GB capacities. The price of each respective model is 3937 yen, 6615 yen, and 12180 yen. Supported operating systems are Windows Me, 2000, XP, and Mac OS 9.0 ~ 9.2.x, as well as Mac OS X 10.1.x ~ 10.4.2 (besides Mac OS 10.2 ~ 10.2.x).

The case is made of aluminum. Connection with a PC is done via an included USB cable that is 4cm long. Cocoa, Raspberry, Mint, Soda, and Lemon body colors will be available.
