And now we take a look at the "XM-C17" from JVC.
Japan Victor Corporation announced on the 17th the "XM-C17" portable MD player that uses an exclusive low power consumption technology. Silver, Blue, and Red colors are in the lineup. Release is scheduled for November 1st at Open Price, and estimates say it should be around 17,000 yen.
The player has a "Quick Charge" function that will allow for 11 hours of playback time (when in LP4 mode) with 20 minutes of recharging. When the quick charging is complete, you'll be able to see this reflect on the unit's LEDs and the remote control's LCD. Using the included "BN-R129" battery in conjunction with standard dry cells will give a continous playback time of 250 hours.
It also has a full digital amp and 24bit DSP. "ENERGY," "CRYSTAL," "SUBWAY," and "HEARTFUL" audio modes are available." Other features include "Vocal Cancel" for karaoke-like functions, a 4-band equalizer, "Train Mode" which prevents against audio leakage while on a train, and "Digital Active Hyper Bass" for enjoying low tones with some force.
The external dimensions are 75.4 x 82.2 x 16.3mm (W x D x H). The weight with the included battery is 100 grams. The package contains an LCD remote, headphones, recharging stand, and dry cell case.
