Another week, another round of new handsets. Inside, we take a look at the:-Easy Phone Simple-Music Porter II-Prosolid II-MUSIC PORTER XAll for NTT DoCoMo. This announcement happens to come exactly one year after the announcement of the original Prosolid and Music Porter. Coincidence? I think not!

-Easy Phone Simple

The "Rakurakuhon Simple" was developed by Mitsubishi, and is for talk only. It has a 1.3" STN monochrome display, and large buttons with 7.2mm size.  It also has basic SMS functionality.

-Music Porter II

The Music Porter II is a FOMA handset that can play audio for as long as 20 hours, and it supports the playback of ATRAC3, ATRAC3plus, MP3, and AAC. A 128MB Memory Stick Duo is included. It also supports tracks downloaded from "Mora."  Other features seem to be standard FOMA fare, such as a 320 x 240 fot LCD, 1.3MP camera, and so on.

-Prosolid II

Panasonic Mobile Communications' Prosolid II is a FOMA handset with a thickness of 16.7mm, and it has no camera.  At such a thickness, it is the thinnest of all FOMA handsets, and offers a 2.2", 320 x 240 dot LCD. It's primary feature? "The fact that it has no primary feature is its primary feature." OK, Panasonic, we'll take your word for it.

-MUSIC PORTER X

NTT DoCoMo apparently developed this one on their own -- it's a handset that supports "Moba Ho!" mobile satellite audio broadcasts. It features a rather large 1GB of internal memory, and can record these satellite broadcasts, and also supports the playback of ATRAC3, ATRAC3plus, MP3, and AAC files. A nice 3.2MP CMOS camera is also included, and the display is an oddly shaped 2.8 screen at a resolution of 240 x 400. Probably the most interesting of the bunch...
