Thanko will be releasing this CD organizer thingamajig that looks a bit like o­ne of those food washing/massaging machines. I don't think CD organization systems (even o­nes that connect via USB) are too new, but this o­ne does offer a fairly compact size given its 150 disc capacity.

Thanko has released a new model in their "CD LIBRARY" rotating disc library series, the "DC-101," o­n the company's "RARE MONO SHOP." It costs 10,980 yen, and two can be purchased for 17,800 yen.

It can connect with a PC via USB, and if the user installs the included software, they can search and eject discs from their PC. When compared to the previous "DC300 CD Library II" model, the total capacity of 150 discs remains the same, but this unit has a smaller case size. Furthermore, the price has been reduced by about 2,820 yen. Supported operating systems are Windows ME, 2000, and XP.

The inner portion of the device features a rotating storage case, allowing for the storage of up to 150 discs. The software allows for management of disc names, and allows keyword searches to be conducted. When a specific disc wants to be removed from the device via the software, the device's motor will rotate, and the specified disc can be removed from the library.

If using a USB hub, up to 127 disc libraries can be connected, making for a disc management system of up to 19,050 discs. Up to 5 units can be stacked. Of course, even without a PC, specific discs can be removed using buttons o­n the front panel itself.

The external dimensions are 300 x 190mm (D x H). The included USB cable has a 1.84m length. Power is supplied by an AC adapter.
