"Nagashi Soumen" roughly translates as "flowing noodles." It is a method of eating soumen noodles (similar to ramen noodles, but much thinner), where a bamboo pole is split in half and placed so that the noodles can slide down the inside of it along with some water. Eaters sit along the length of the bamboo pole, and try to catch the noodles as they flow by.
Anyway, nagashi soumen does take quite a bit of preparation -- you need a bamboo pole to split in half, some running water, and a place to do it (few Japanese have backyards).
Not anymore. A company called Comsatellite has created the "Certain Kill! Soumen Mawashi."
Comsatellite has revived the "USB Nagashi Soumen" line for the first time in 2 years with the "Certain Kill! Soumen Mawashi," currently available at SuperCOM. Its price is 9,800 yen.
This store, besides nagashi soumen machines, has taken electric shavers, electric toothbrushes, and improved them to operate using USB bus power, then sold them as original products (Comsatellite Store 3, at the time). There had not been a new product here for some time, but regarding the "Certain Kill! Soumen Mawashi," the store said that "there were a lot of requests, and we refined our production system, so we began selling it again."
The product will be sold only during this summer period, and when stock runs out, the products must be ordered. Since the stock is quite limited, those who want this product early would be best off making their way as quickly as possible.
Resale of the original product itself may also begin depending on the request. Though there are currently no plans to also sell the USB shaver and/or USB toothbrush, these plans could change depending on demand.
